Our Commitment

Discover Plymouth is committed to making our website and mobile app accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability. Accessibility isn't an afterthought for us - features like accessible toilet locations and step-free route information are core parts of the app itself.

This Website

discoverplymouth.com is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards:

• Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy and landmarks
• Full keyboard navigation, including dropdown menus and a skip-to-content link
• Text alternatives for meaningful images
• Colour contrast meeting AA ratios throughout
• Responsive design that supports zoom up to 200% without loss of content
• Reduced-motion support respecting your system preferences
• Forms with visible labels and clear error handling

The App

The Discover Plymouth app is being built with platform accessibility tools in mind, including screen reader support (VoiceOver and TalkBack), dynamic text sizing and high-contrast compatibility. This work is ongoing - accessibility feedback from users is especially valuable to us.

Known Limitations

• Some embedded forms are hosted by third parties; their accessibility is governed by those providers. A direct link or email alternative is always provided.
• Some third-party embedded content may not fully meet our standards.
